CrossFit Santa Clara Kids is not a scaled-down or watered-down version of CrossFit, it is a program designed specifically to meet the special neurological, cognitive and motor needs of children. But the most important aspect of CF Santa Clara Kids is that it is FUN! Our kids look forward to coming to class, and are learning that “exercise” is interesting, fun, and worth doing.
At CrossFit Santa Clara Kids it doesn’t matter how old you are, how athletic you are, what other sports you have played, there’s a place for you here! In every class, we develop our skills and abilities, we play games and we try new things. There’s no “Winning and Losing”, there’s just a group of kids having a great time moving their bodies and loving every minute! There’s always something new to try, and something to practice so we can get better at it. None of us are good at EVERYTHING but all of us are good a a lot of things, great at many things, and getting better at things that aren’t so easy for us.
We begin each class with a warm-up, followed by a short time spent working on a particular skill or two (for example the squat, pull-up, handstand, clean or push press). Then we do a workout of the day (WOD) which usually lasts 10-15 minutes, followed by a game and stretching. We keep the environment positive and fun!
